The Classico zone is the historic heart of Soave — a hillside landscape of volcanic basalt and limestone northeast of Verona where Garganega, the native white grape, produces its most interesting expressions. Balestri Valda farms organically here, letting the terroir do the talking.
White peach and almond on the nose with a delicate floral note. Dry and well-balanced on the palate with genuine mineral character and a clean, satisfying finish. Good Soave Classico like this is one of Italy's underrated pleasures — easy with food, honest in its expression.

Laura Rizzotto
Laura Rizzotto and her family tend vineyards on a beautiful, south-facing hillside, 50km from Lake Garda. This is Soave Classico land, deep inthe hills of the broader Soave region. The Garganega grape reaches its peak expression on this volcanic terrain. The Rizzottos say no to chemistry and cultivate their vineyards according to the principles oforganic viticulture. Their passion for each agronomic practice is an expression of deep respect for nature and harmony with the ecosystem. They have also undertaken beekeeping with enthusiasm, and their hap bees testify that protecting biodiversity is not only possible but a must. They have always believed in and are dedicated to their native vines, focusing on low yields per hectare to the full advantage of quality. Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave are the masters in the cellar, where they make wine with the utmost respect for their terroir.
