Put down the Sauvignon Blanc and pay attention! Verdejo has all the attributes of that more famous grape with a tropical twist. It is a Spanish speciality that for many years lay dormant and ignored. Brought to Spain from North Africa during the Moorish invasion, the variety is now undergoing a revolution of sorts thanks to independent winemakers like Victoria Pariente and Javier Viedel.
