Champagne is the world's most celebrated sparkling wine, and the one we reach for when it's time to celebrate. It is produced exclusively in the Champagne region of north-east France, mainly from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, using the traditional method (méthode champenoise), where a secondary fermentation inside the bottle creates its fine, persistent bubbles. Chalky soils and a cool climate give the wines their distinct character, complexity, finesse and longevity. Non-vintage Champagne, the most widely produced style, blends multiple base wines and reserve wines to stay consistent from year to year, while vintage Champagne captures the character of a single harvest. Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay; Blanc de Noirs from Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier. Styles run from crisp, zesty Brut to bone-dry zero-dosage Champagne and elegant, toasty vintage wines. Our Champagne comes from two family producers, J. Charpentier and Mandois, with Brut, Rosé, Blanc de Blancs, zero-dosage and vintage cuvées, plus half bottles and magnums.
