Serge Laloue is a small, highly regarded domaine in Chavignol, in the heart of Sancerre — one of the most iconic wine villages in the Loire Valley. Laloue's Cuvée Silex represents the apex of his craft, selected from his finest parcels on the pure limestone-rich soils that give Sancerre its distinctive mineral character and signature flinty minerality. His wines are consistently among the most sought-after in the appellation by wine critics and professional sommeliers who value authenticity and terroir expression.
This cuvée shows textbook gooseberry, lime zest, and flinty minerality — elegant and precise in the best Sancerre tradition. The purity of fruit and mineral tension defines a wine of real quality. Perfect with goat cheese, seafood, or asparagus dishes. A wine from a domaine that has quietly become a benchmark for what Sancerre at its finest can achieve.

Serge Laloue
Domaine Serge Laloue has been a family winery since Serge planted the first vines here in the 1960's . Today it is run by his daughter and son, Christine and Franck. Franck is the winemaker and he perpetrates the Laloue philosophy meaning respect for the soil is paramount as is the realisation that the makeup of the different soils are what give specific flavours and textures to the wines. The Domaine consists of many small plots, the grapes from which are vinified separately, to maintain their distinct characteristics. Franck Laloue joined the family business in the 1990's and took on the role of closely monitoring the cycle of growing, analysing and studying every detail. He was not satisfied with just technical testing of the grapes, but insists on also tasting regularly to ascertain when they are absolutely right for harvesting. This way, the exact flavour profile he wants in his wines can be achieved.
