Collection: Mas d'en Gil
Marta Rovira Carbonell abandoned a career as an aeronautical engineer in Munich to return home to Catalonia and take over the family wine business that began in 1918. Marta quickly introduced organic methods at Finca Mas D’en Gil, and has moved towards biodynamic practices in the vineyard and winery. Finca Mas D’en Gil’s natural approach to winemaking was influenced by Marta’s grandmother Pilar, an expert in lunar cycles and local medicinal plants.
In her family’s high-altitude vineyards Marta produces a vibrant style of wine that stands in contrast with the heavy, over-extracted Priorat wines of her father’s time. Marta’s Bellmunt and Coma Vella make better use of the altitude and terroir at Finca Mas D’en Gil, providing fresh and engaging examples of Grenache and Carignan blends.
