But "a bottle of wine" covers a lot of ground. Getting the style, budget and presentation right takes a little planning. Here's what you need to know.

What your budget gets you

• €15–25 per bottle: a solid level for volume gifting, such as end-of-year client lists, team gifts or event wine. You can buy genuinely good wine here.
• €25–50: where gifts start to make an impression. Right for key clients and senior contacts: a classic Rioja, a pair from the Douro, a 10 Year Old Tawny Port.
• €50 and over: a statement, for your most important relationships. Think Margaux, family-grown Champagne or a Burgundy and Bordeaux pair.

Volume or a single bottle?

For large lists of 50 or more, mixed cases often make more sense. They give recipients choice, they're easier to manage, and a six-bottle case can feel more generous than one bottle at the same cost per bottle. Our six-bottle gift cases are a good place to start.

For a short list of key people, one well-chosen bottle with a handwritten note almost always lands better. The specificity is the point.

Presentation matters

• Christmas: the biggest gifting window. Order by mid-November for large lists. The last delivery day before Christmas is Monday 21 December.
• Client thank-yous: tie the bottle to a milestone or a finished project. The more personal, the better.
• Events: receptions, launches, client dinners. Choose wines that please a crowd without being forgettable. We also run corporate wine tastings.
• Onboarding: an underused idea. A good bottle with a welcome note sets the tone from day one.
