Apple TV
Slow Horses: a claret for the spies
- 6 new episodes, weekly
- Starts Wed 16 Sept
- Finale Wed 21 Oct
Jackson Lamb and his MI5 rejects are back. Apple TV is releasing the six new episodes one at a time, starting Wednesday, 16 September and ending on Wednesday, 21 October. This time the Slough House team find themselves targeted and hunted by a pair of mysterious, ruthless assassins.
Lamb himself would pour something brown and strong and then eat your takeaway. For everyone else, we'd go to Bordeaux, because there's no wine more tied to the British establishment Lamb spends his life insulting.
For a Wednesday night episode, open the Haut Rian Sélection Parcellaire. Château Haut Rian is an estate we've worked with across generations of the Lapierre family, and this is claret made for dinner, not for the cellar.
For a Wednesday night episode
Haut Rian Selection Parcellaire Bordeaux AOC France
Dark fruit, gentle oak and fine tannins. Claret made for dinner.
€19.50
For the finale, go to the Left Bank with Château Morin Saint-Estèphe. Saint-Estèphe is in the Médoc, where Cabernet Sauvignon leads. That gives a firmer, more structured wine than a Merlot-led claret, with the kind of backbone the establishment would approve of.
For the finale
Château Morin Saint-Estèphe AOC France
Cabernet-led Left Bank structure, with hints of leather and pepper spice.
€29.00
