From the foothills of the alps, this Blaufränkisch has aromas of dark cherry and blackberry. Fermented from natural yeast; the wine is terroir-driven with a so spicy finish. The Zweigelt grape is a brilliantly hardy grape that was made for the Austrian climate. Fermented in large oak barrels, this light to medium bodied wine has warm dark blackberry fruit balanced by alpine freshness.

The Mittelburgenland offers a variety of soil structures thanks to its unique geography. The Ödenburg mountain range, on the Hungarian border, is defined by its smouldering slate and orthogneiss. In the lowlands, it is dominated by clay soil. The interaction of the elements over millennia forms the substrate for vines and fruits that create the precise character of Wellanschitz wine."
