The 2020 Roc de Cambes is a study in controlled power. It opens with dense black plum, blueberry compote, and wild blackberry, edged by incense, dark cocoa, and a faintly smoky mineral note that anchors the whole thing.

The palate is where the vintage really declares itself: rich, ripe fruit delivered with surprising freshness, supported by fine yet assertive tannins. There’s a tension here — a push-pull between generosity and precision — that gives the wine real dynamism. Layers of cassis, black cherry, graphite, and warm spice unfold slowly, finishing with that trademark Mitjavile sweetness of fruit and lingering savoury depth.
