Minimum intervention wines are made with as little manipulation as possible at every stage, from the vineyard to the bottle — closely related to, and often overlapping with, the natural wine movement. The philosophy centres on letting the grapes and the place they're grown express themselves, rather than shaping the wine through extensive additives or processing.
In practice, this typically means organically or biodynamically farmed grapes, fermentation with native yeasts, little to no added sulphites, and wines left unfined and unfiltered. The result is often wines with more textural interest, greater variation between vintages, and a stronger sense of place — though it also means embracing some unpredictability, from haziness to bottle variation.
Our Minimum Intervention collection brings together wines from producers committed to this hands-off approach. For more on what to expect from these wines and how to choose one, see our complete guide to natural wine.
