Capdevielle family

The Capdevielle family and their estate, Château Gaudin in Pauillac

The property now known as Château Gaudin was acquired by the Capdevielle family in 1901.  The estate’s name, “Gaudin”, came from “Sieur Gaudin,” the previous owner. After acquiring it, the Capdevielle family kept the name in recognition of its heritage.  Over the years, through successive family generations, the vineyard gradually expanded from those initial few hectares to around 10-11 hectares. Stéphane Capdevielle is another key figure of the current generation, managing day-to-day operations. Adrien Capdevielle, Stéphane’s son, joined formally around 2018 and is becoming more involved in the operations.
