Huber-Verdereau Volnay AOC, France
Huber-Verdereau Volnay AOC, France
SKU 12501
Out of stock
A classic Volnay showing fragrant red cherry, wild strawberry, rose petal, and subtle spice. Medium-bodied with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a refined mineral backbone. More about finesse and perfume than power, reflecting the traditional character that has made Volnay one of Burgundy's most elegant Pinot Noir villages.
This wine shines with dishes that match its finesse rather than overpower it. Roast duck breast with a cherry jus or herb-crusted lamb would be particularly successful, allowing the wine's floral aromas, red-fruit character, and silky texture to express themselves fully. Avoid heavily spiced dishes or rich barbecue sauces, which can overwhelm the wine's delicate Volnay character.

Domaine Huber-Verdereau
Domaine Huber-Verdereau was founded by Thiébault Huber in 1994 but originated in the 19th century with his grandfather Raoul Verdereau Thiébault Huber studied all about the hotel business and the art of being a sommelier at the famous Hotel Catering School in Strasbourg. In 1990, he chose to take over the family estate, training three years at the Wine School of Beaune, with his cousin, winegrower Jean-Marc Bouley. His first harvest was in 1994. Beginning with 2.9 hectares, and looking to expand his land and range of appellations, Domaine Huber-Verdereau now owns four hectares of vines in three parishes: Volnay, Pommard, and Meursault. For Thiébault, it is all about minimal intervention. Theresult is a wine with finesse and elegance and pure expression of his superior terroirs.
