Chateau Durfort Vivens Grand Cru Classe 1855 Margaux AOC France

Owned by the Lurton family since 1961. Fully Biodynamic and aged 80% in amphora and 20% in oak. The colour is a bright, intense, dark purple with glints of violet. The dense, complex bouquet offers a harmonious combination of notes of minerals, spices, very ripe dark fruit, liquorice, incense and white lilies. On the palate, the attack is smooth and dense. There is a remarkable balance between minerality and sweetness. The wine's power is steady and well structured.

A 2nd Grand Cru Classé de Margaux that Wine Advocate scored 96 points for the 2019 vintage — "A brilliant Margaux, unwinding in the glass with aromas of blackberries, licorice, sweet soil tones, spices and rose petals... full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a fleshy core of fruit, rich, powdery tannins and a lively spine of acidity." Dominated by 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a wine of genuine nobility.
