Domaines Landron is a celebrated family estate in the Muscadet appellation at the mouth of the Loire Valley — one of France's greatest producers of this iconic dry white. Jo Landron has been farming biodynamically for decades, and the Amphibolite cuvée takes its name from the amphibolite soils — an ancient metamorphic rock that gives this wine its distinctive mineral character and extraordinary longevity.
Pale gold with a complex, precise nose of green apple, sea spray, white flowers, and a salty, mineral freshness that is uniquely Muscadet. Dry and bone-dry on the palate with vibrant acidity and a beautifully long, stony finish. One of the benchmark producers in the appellation — a natural for oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, or simply a glass by the sea. Biodynamic farming, exceptional terroir.

Joseph Landron
When it comes to winemaking, you won’t find anyone more serious than Jo. The use of chemical fungicides and other such methods is totally prohibited; fertilisation is with biodynamic compost, and the vineyards are ploughed to reduce competition from weeds. This is not easy work. It would be much easier to spray and forget like many others do but Jo is determined to make the best Muscadet possible with as little “interference” as possible. Working on the beautiful lands surrounding La Haie-Fouassiere in Sevre-et-Maine, Jo is one of Muscadet’s great winemakers. Using Melon de Bourgogne a variety from the Nantes region, and different types of terroir, he creates his admirable range of wines, ranging from the fruity to the most complex.
