Château Haut-Marbuzet is a well-regarded, long-time Cru Bourgeois wine estate based in Saint-Estèphe, on the so-called Left Bank of the Gironde estuary, in Bordeaux's northern Médoc region.
The Haut-Marbuzet property was one of the original Crus Bourgeois named in 1932 and promoted to the Crus Grand Bourgeois Exceptionnels in 1978. It was further confirmed as one of nine Crus Bourgeois Exceptionnels in 2003.
The second wine is Château MacCarthy, made from younger vines. The name originally applied to a distinct property, which was purchased in 1988 and added to Haut-Marbuzet.
Lean, elegant style dry wine with good blackforest fruit flavours and light oak integration. Tight knit structure with youthful tannins.

Château Haut Marbuzet is now a classic at Wines Direct. Our relationship with the Dubosq family goes back manyyears. The property was purchased in 1952 by Hervé Dubosq and is now managed by his son, Henri. Henri Dubosq's wines are rich and voluptuous to drink young with plenty of concentrated fruit and chocolatey-vanilla aromas, yet also age beautifully. Château Haut Marbuzet produces one of the most pleasurable wines in the Médoc. It is classified as a Cru Bourgeois, however, its wines regularly overshadow those of its celebrity Grand Cru Classé neighbours. The estate is 40 acres located about 2 kilometres north of Cos d'Estournel in the tiny village of Marbuzet in St-Estéphe. Its vineyards face the Gironde estuary, and vines are planted on gravel-rich soil.
