Château Haut-Marbuzet is one of the great names in Saint-Estèphe — a Cru Bourgeois that has long been considered to punch at Grand Cru level. Henri Duboscq and his son Bruno bring passion and perfectionism to every vintage, ageing the wine in 100% new oak, which gives Haut-Marbuzet its signature rich, opulent character.
Deep ruby with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, dark chocolate, and toasty vanilla. On the palate, it's full-bodied and powerful with a velvety texture and a long, complex finish that evolves beautifully in the glass.
Scoring 96 points from James Suckling for the 2019 vintage — "Full-bodied with fine tannins. Balanced, layered and polished with a fleshy texture. Harmonious, with elegance and intensity" — and backed by 93 points from Wine Advocate and 94 points from Vinous, Haut-Marbuzet is one of Bordeaux's most consistently overperforming estates. A collectors' favourite. Cellar for 10 years or enjoy now with a properly aged ribeye.

Henri Duboscq
Château Haut Marbuzet is now a classic at Wines Direct. Our relationship with the Dubosq family goes back manyyears. The property was purchased in 1952 by Hervé Dubosq and is now managed by his son, Henri. Henri Dubosq's wines are rich and voluptuous to drink young with plenty of concentrated fruit and chocolatey-vanilla aromas, yet also age beautifully. Château Haut Marbuzet produces one of the most pleasurable wines in the Médoc. It is classified as a Cru Bourgeois, however, its wines regularly overshadow those of its celebrity Grand Cru Classé neighbours. The estate is 40 acres located about 2 kilometres north of Cos d'Estournel in the tiny village of Marbuzet in St-Estéphe. Its vineyards face the Gironde estuary, and vines are planted on gravel-rich soil.
