The Paulessen Zenit in a sip:
“Paulessen” is Andrea’s own brand and is used to classify his dry style Riesling from the Mosel. The name "Paulessen" originates from a farm name of his 17th-century ancestors. Zenit is the designation used for his absolute flagship wines. The grapes for the Zenit line are particularly selected and grow on steep vineyards, with red slate terroir and optimal sun exposure. These characteristics allow this wine to age and mature for many years.


The result is purely impressive, seductive aromas of sweet apple and honey accented with delicate rose notes. Vibrant minerality with a long and intense finish of citrus and apricots

Andreas Bender

Andreas grew up roaming the vineyards of the Mosel wherehis family were grafting vines. It is no surprise he beganmaking wine when he was 13! His wine experiences include time in the U.S., France, Italy and at Geisenheim University as a scholar inoenology and viticulture. Today he manages 35 hectares of his own vineyards. His grapes are picked and hand-sorted, to ensure the highest quality of juice. The unconventional use of retired oak barrels can be a bit hit ormiss, but for Andreas, it has been a hit. Andreas'contemporary attitude comes through in the Bender labeldesign and accessible, fun wines. He takes Pfalz andMosel's traditional grapes, cool climate, and slate soils and uses them to create impeccably balanced wines.
