Vinho Verde is a wine region and DOC in north-west Portugal, famous for fresh, light, and often slightly sparkling white wines that are perfect for everyday drinking. Made primarily from indigenous grapes such as Alvarinho, Loureiro, and Arinto, Vinho Verde wines are typically low in alcohol, high in acidity, and bursting with citrus, green apple, and floral aromas, often with a subtle natural fizz from a touch of residual carbon dioxide. The name 'Vinho Verde' translates to 'green wine,' referring not to colour but to the youthful, fresh style in which these wines are meant to be enjoyed — typically within a year or two of bottling. While most Vinho Verde is white, the region also produces small amounts of red, rosé, and increasingly, more serious single-varietal Alvarinho wines with greater depth and ageing potential. Our Vinho Verde collection offers a refreshing, easy-drinking option for warm days and casual occasions. These wines are fantastic with seafood, light salads, and tapas-style dishes, and their low alcohol and gentle fizz make them an excellent aperitif.
