For creamy or cheese-based dishes (carbonara, four cheese pizza), a fuller-bodied white like Chardonnay or a soft, fruity red like Merlot can work well. For seafood pasta or pizza, lighter whites such as Vermentino or Pinot Grigio are excellent.
