Nicolas Maillet Macon Verze AOC France
Nicolas Maillet Macon Verze AOC France
SKU 12350
68 in stock
From the eastern side of the village of Verze, this wine shows floral and mineral notes on the nose. The palate is round with balanced acidity and minerality. Lovely fruit notes of pear and apple with a touch of spice, which gives this Macon Verze some complexity.
Enjoy with shellfish, leek tart or risotto.
Critics & Recognition
Nicolas Maillet's Mâcon-Verzé Le Chemin Blanc features on the wine list of Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, London — one of only a handful of three-Michelin-starred restaurants in London — listed at £89 per bottle. Also chosen by Jason Atherton's City Social (one Michelin star, London) and La Toque in Napa Valley. Exceptional recognition for a Mâconnais producer.

Nicolas Maillet
Rooted in the heart of the Mâconnais, Nicolas Maillet brings a quiet intensity and deep respect for tradition to his family’s vineyards in Verzé, where winemaking has been part of the landscape for generations. A thoughtful and instinctive vigneron, Nicolas believes that great wine is born from skill and sensitivity to nature, patience, and a true connection with the land. He lets the vines speak, working organically and allowing fermentation to occur naturally, without intervention. For Nicolas, winemaking is less about control and more about trust in the process, the terroir, and time. His philosophy is simple but powerful: honour the vineyard, and the wine will reflect its soul.
