Grenache Blanc

Grenache Blanc is a white grape variety that is a colour mutation of the red Grenache (Garnacha) grape, widely grown across the southern Rhone Valley, Languedoc-Roussillon and Spain, where it is known as Garnacha Blanca. Grenache Blanc produces full-bodied, low-acid white wines with flavours of ripe stone fruit, pear and citrus, often accompanied by herbal, fennel-like notes and a soft, rounded texture. It is a key component of many white blends from Chateauneuf-du-Pape and the southern Rhone, where it adds body and richness alongside more aromatic varieties such as Roussanne and Viognier. While its naturally low acidity means it is best consumed relatively young, careful winemaking and old vines can produce Grenache Blanc wines of real depth and character.
