Aimé Piroux

Aimé Piroux is the nom de plume of an anonymous winemaker who pays homage to her grandfather's name, channelling the same competitive energy she brought to championship cycling into farming her vineyards alongside her son with a deep commitment to sustainability. The identity of each parcel is respected, resulting in wines of real diversity and authentic terroir character.

Aime Piroux is the name behind a quietly serious project from a winemaker who prefers to let the wine do the talking. A former competitive cyclist, Aime Piroux brings the same discipline and respect for hard graft to the vineyard, farming with a strong commitment to sustainability and treating each parcel individually so its character comes through in the glass. The flagship wine is a Fleurie, from the Beaujolais cru of the same name, made from Gamay grown on pink granite soils. Fleurie has a reputation as one of the most elegant and perfumed of the ten Beaujolais crus, and this version stays true to that style: vibrant red fruit, a touch of floral lift and silky, approachable tannins. Wines Direct is pleased to bring this thoughtfully made Fleurie to Irish customers - a wine that over-delivers for its price and offers a brilliant introduction to serious Beaujolais. Serve it lightly chilled with charcuterie, roast chicken or simply on its own.
