About Petit Verdot
Petit Verdot is believed to be one of the oldest grape varieties in Bordeaux, where it has long played a supporting role in the classic left-bank blends of the Médoc alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Its name translates as small green — a reference to its tendency to remain unripe in cooler years, which historically made it an unpredictable addition to any blend. Petit Verdot produces wines of very deep, almost inky colour with a powerful aromatic profile.
