The Hunter Valley is one of Australia's oldest and most historic wine regions, located just north of Sydney in New South Wales. Despite its warm climate, the Hunter Valley is best known for two distinctive, age-worthy white wines: bone-dry Semillon, which starts lean and citrusy and develops remarkable toasty, honeyed complexity over years in the bottle, and Chardonnay, often made in a more restrained, elegant style than Chardonnay from other Australian regions.
The Hunter Valley is also home to excellent Shiraz, typically showing a distinctive earthy, leathery, medium-bodied character quite different from the bold, fruit-forward Shiraz of regions like Barossa — sometimes described as having an 'old world' sensibility despite its Australian origin.
Our Hunter Valley collection brings together these classic styles, offering a chance to explore one of Australia's most distinctive and historically significant wine regions. Hunter Valley Semillon is a fantastic match for seafood and Asian cuisine, while the region's Shiraz pairs beautifully with roasted meats and earthy, savoury dishes.
