"This is a top class Sauvignon Blanc, seamlessly integrating ripe fresh fruit with intense, grassy green notes."
Blake Creedon, Irish Examiner.

"Forget about crisp, green-gooseberry flavoured Sauvignon Blanc for a while. It`s a summer wine for all the hot days we never had. At this time of year, we need something a bit more luscious - and this new contender from New Zealand is the answer. It has lovely hints of ripe, tropical fruit - pineapples and grapefruit - without sacrificing the nettley freshness that is a major part of Sauvignon`s appeal. A super aperitif wine, it`ll also suit plenty of light foods."

Mary Dowey, Irish Times Magazine

"If you`ve had enough of the sheer pungency of the Kiwi style and want something that veers towards the Loire, this is your wine. It`s very, very dry and the acidity is positively steely; in other words, not your typical New World Sauvignon. Great price too."
Tom Doorley, The Sunday Tribune.

"A relatively rich style of Sauvignon, showing some broad lemon curd and pear flavours; quite full bodied but still cut through by classic kiwi lemon and lime acidity."

Abel Francisco Codesso

"Bodegas as Laxas has been family owned and run since its creation in 1863. It is located in the Condado de Tea area of the Rías Baixas region, on the terraced banks of the Padre Miño river giving it the perfect southern exposure. Rías Baixas DO only started in 1980 and Bodegas as Laxas was one of the first wineries to be awarded the status of DO. The land required for Albariño is low-lying, generally not higher than 300 metres, close to the sea and on the bank of a river which allows for the perfect Atlantic influences to effect the growth. These climactic features and the topography of the land provide the Albariño grape with its very aromatic and fresh characteristics."
