"Dajoar" means "like in the past" in the Mosel dialect, as the style of this wine reflects the traditional production methods of historic Mosel wines—not dry, but with a playful sweetness that perfectly harmonizes with the crisp acidity, making the wine not taste truly off-dry.

The result is impressive: in terms of aroma profile, it embodies the perfect Mosel Riesling—ripe yellow apple, vine peach, and a hint of honeycomb. On the palate, the juicy fruit is complemented by apricot on the nose, along with a perfect interplay of sweetness and acidity, leading to a long finish.

Andreas Bender

Andreas grew up roaming the vineyards of the Mosel wherehis family were grafting vines. It is no surprise he beganmaking wine when he was 13! His wine experiences include time in the U.S., France, Italy and at Geisenheim University as a scholar inoenology and viticulture. Today he manages 35 hectares of his own vineyards. His grapes are picked and hand-sorted, to ensure the highest quality of juice. The unconventional use of retired oak barrels can be a bit hit ormiss, but for Andreas, it has been a hit. Andreas'contemporary attitude comes through in the Bender labeldesign and accessible, fun wines. He takes Pfalz andMosel's traditional grapes, cool climate, and slate soils and uses them to create impeccably balanced wines.
