[message]Collection: Chenin Blanc
Chenin Blanc commands attention. Widely sold by supermarkets in its relatively simple South African guise, its homeland lies along the banks of the River Loire in France. Winemakers like Jacky Blot revel in the variety’s diversity and it lends itself well to a host of winemaking techniques. Australia produces a small amount of quality examples too. Chenin has a spectrum of flavours that few varieties can match – from rich honey and tropical flavours to steely, minerally and green apple notes – and it can age longer than some of the finest Chardonnays.
