Wine Makers

San Simone Frizzante by Antonio Brisotto

The Brisotto siblings, Chiara, Antonio and Anna are driven by family pride and passion. They are the fifth generation to make wine in their Friulian vineyard, and carry on the work of their mother Livinia, and the generations before her.

Their belief is that wine is not simply made by know-how, but requires passion, sacrifice, patience, sensitivity...and fantasy! This is something that cannot be learned in school, it must be part of your make up, and forms the instinctive, innate ability that characterises the best winemakers. This family pride naturally extends to respect for the land and environment, and there is a strong commitment to ecological practises at San Simone.

Their 'Progetto Verde' (Green Project) initiative extends to all areas of their operation, including the architecturally sensitive design of the winery, water conservation, recycling, and renewable energy. The flora and fauna are protected by allowing grass to grow between the vines, preserving the habitat of many small animals. Today, a new generation is beginning to soak up their passion and philosophy, with the children taking an active part with their parents among the vines.

Press Reviews

"From the classic Prosecco village of Valdobbiadene in Friuli in North Eastern Italy. From a family winery that practices eco-friendly wine-making wherever possible. This is a lively apple- and pear-scented Prosecco which holds its fizz better than most Frizzante and has a fine tangy apple finish." Leslie Williams, The Irish Examiner

Best prosecco i ever tried , 24/06/2013
By Mafer
This was a very fine and delicate prosecco, it kept its taste until the very last drop. We had it with my Italian friends over dinner and they were well impressed. Very easy to drink. Would buy again.
