Wine Makers

Pepperton Estate. by Rod Hooper

The Toohey family have a proud tradition as liquor merchants since 1899 and they established Pepperton Estate 2001, taking its name from the original Peppardstown in Co.Tipperary. Pepperton Estate is located in the village of Beelbangera, just outside the town of Griffith in New South Wales, 550 kilometres southwest of Sydney. The estate dates back to 1930, when it was originally built by the Rossetto family.

Although a young company, they benefit from many years experience in the wine business, and the expert skills of consultant Rod Hooper. Rod is devoted to making great wine with carefully selected fruit from boutique growers, to produce a range of superb wines, suiting a variety of occasions and tastes.

Having graduated from Roseworthy college with a degree in Oenology, Rod worked with some of Australia's top wineries, travelled to gain winemaking experience around the world, before returning to make wines with balance and refinement at Pepperton Estate.
