Review: Chateau De Eyssards

Review: Chateau De Eyssards

"Bergerac, lying just outside the confines of Bordeaux, can offer some great value wines. The whites in particular are worth looking out for. Based on the Sauvignon grape, as used in Sancerre and Pouilly Fume, the best are fresh, aromatic and crisp. The Chateau des Eyssards is a perfect example, with floral grassy aromas, light green fruits on a racy but stylish centre-palate, finishing dry. Great by itself or with lighter fish and seafood. As an everyday wine I don't see how you can do any better." John Wilson, Irish Times
