This red wine is elegant, fresh and peppery aroma with spice notes. Very good complexity from the wood, with notes of chocolate. Good balance in the mouth, smooth and creamy.

In the male dominated wine world of South America, Irene Paiva proudly paves the way for other women to break from traditional mores and work the vines if they so choose. She readily admits, “When I started making wine, there were very few women working in the business.” Today she is often listed as one of the most influential business leaders in Chile.
Winemaking was a natural choice for Irene having spent her childhood in the Andean vineyards. “As the gypsy of our family, I started out thinking about working with animals; cows, horses, etc. I grew up near Talca and I spent a lot of time in the country with my cousins mostly on my grandfather’s farm in Maule. He made wine and maybe that came back to me.”
Being blessed with ideal climatic conditions of the Maule valley helps her produce consistently charismatic wines. The grapes are hand harvested, and unripe or damaged bunches are removed before they reach the winery. Irene has also ensured Korta is signed up to the ISO standard for protection of the environment .
The small Sagrada Familia Valley located within the Lontué Valley, surrounded by hills and enjoying a warm microclimate, houses more than 200 hectares of the Korta vineyards. This, along with the short distance to the Pacific Ocean, facilitates the influence of coastal winds which creates a wide day-night temperature range. These special characteristics are ideal for the quality, colour, and concentration of our red wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, and make us unique. In the foothills of the Curicó Valley, in a pre-Andean region, the Zapallar area is located, which houses 30 hectares of their white grapes. The colder climates in this area are excellent for the making and development of white wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Roussanne, and Sauvignon Gris.
