Named for Angelo Paternò’s daughter. Marilina and Federica are secondgeneration winemakers from the southeast of Sicily. The family have been growing vines organically since 2001 with 40 - 50 year-old vines planted alongside fruit trees. Hand-harvested and fermented in concrete with natural yeast, with 6 months in tank and 6 months in bottle resulting in a wine that is fresh with dried fruit, fresh fruit and great weight and texture.

Marilina and Federica Paternò

Angelo Paterno handed the reins over to his daughters, Marilina and Federica, who have been farming organically since the vineyard was established in 2001. You will find existing saplings that are between 40 and 50 years old united in a classic system of vines grown together with fruit trees. Their philosophy is simple: absolute respect for the earth. The climate in Sicily works to their advantage in making wine with as little intervention as possible. Their modern approach is combined with traditional winemaking techniques such as concrete tanks, drying grapes out in the sun and extended skin maceration for the white wines.
