Food Pairing

The bestselling Ciù Ciù (‘choo-choo’) is made organically by Walter Bartolomei and his team in the hills of the Marche, on Italy’s Adriatic coast. His wines are among our greatest discoveries, offering Mediterranean flair and flavour at a price that makes them accessible to all. And, if you were curious about the name, it does indeed translate as "choo-choo." Yes, as in a train. A name that pays homage to his grandfather who was involved in the railroad.
Ciù Ciù wines are certified organic and vegan and Walter continues to pursue sustainability through wastewater, energy and biodiversity projects. His wines use Italian speciality grapes like Passerino, Montepulciano and Sangiovese. These grapes thrive on Walter's vineyards, producing wine perfect for easy enjoyment. He strives for fresh, light and fruity wines which offer more drinking and food pairing options. Just some of the reasons Ciù Ciù is a favourite for parties and among our most popular wedding wines.
"A no-brainer for the money. Spring flower, kumquat and conference pear nose, a decent weight of fruit and a clean finish. Food-friendly. Would grace any restaurant list."
"Great-value wine with good concentration and intriguing notes of mandarin and pear. A pity more restaurants don’t offer wine this unusual."
"Piedmont produces some lovely whites but none under €15 I felt I could mention. I’ve long been a fan of this Marches producer however (Ciu Ciu Bachus is my go-to house-wine in about a dozen restaurants). This is fruity and aromatic (almost lush on the nose) with bright fruits on the palate but with a crisp freshness on the finish."
