Food Pairing

The bestselling Ciù Ciù (‘choo-choo’) is made organically by Walter Bartolomei and his team in the hills of the Marche, on Italy’s Adriatic coast. His wines are among our greatest discoveries, offering Mediterranean flair and flavour at a price that makes them accessible to all. And, if you were curious about the name, it does indeed translate as "choo-choo." Yes, as in a train. A name that pays homage to his grandfather who was involved in the railroad.
Ciù Ciù wines are certified organic and vegan and Walter continues to pursue sustainability through wastewater, energy and biodiversity projects. His wines use Italian speciality grapes like Passerino, Montepulciano and Sangiovese. These grapes thrive on Walter's vineyards, producing wine perfect for easy enjoyment. He strives for fresh, light and fruity wines which offer more drinking and food pairing options. Just some of the reasons Ciù Ciù is a favourite for parties and among our most popular wedding wines.
"Rosso Piceno is from the Marche region of Italy, on the Adriatic coast just east of Tuscany and south of Emillia-Roomagna. This is a typical blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano and has a bright juicy fruit and a pleasing ripeness on the palate - perfect for mid-week pasta or pizza."
"Difficult to forget an Italian wine producer called Ciù Ciù because the great grandfather used to work on the railways and this jolly little organically grown red is just the sort of Italian red I wish I could find more of. Ciù Ciù Bacchus Piceno certainly tastes more like Montepulciano with its sweet, mouth-filling fruit than of the more austere Sangiovese."
"Strange name, I know, but emphatically a food-friendly delight. It’s all black cherry crispness rounded off with dark chocolate, licorice, cloves and hints of black pepper."
