Slightly baked aromas of fruit with a palate of spice, pepper and black fruits. Savoury, spicy and delicious. A wonderful Rose wine displaying a touch of class.

Pauline Dietrich is the second generation of her family to make wine at Château Haut Rian, but her pedigree as a vigneron goes back much further. Her parents, Michel and Isabelle Dietrich, come from traditional winemaking backgrounds. Michel's family are winemakers from Alsace, and Isabelle's ancestors are an old Champagne family.
Château Haut Rian is a family property of 80 ha located about 30 km southeast of Bordeaux in the Premieres Côtes De Bordeaux and covers the hilly banks of the Garonne and includes a mix of different soil types. Château Haut Rian grow their white grapes on silty clay soils, while grapes for their red wines are grown on clay-limestone terroir.
Before starting Château Haut Rian in 1988, Pauline's father set off to build on his family winemaking experience and oenological qualifications, spending seven years working in an Australian winery. This diverse experience in the distinct regions of Alsace and Australia made Michel a very skilful artisan. It's this skill that allows Château Haut Rian to produce a range of meticulously made wines at a great price. Several Wines Direct sales representatives have worked at Château Haut Rian during the harvest, so we've seen firsthand the care and attention that goes into producing these fantastic wines. If you want to gain a new appreciation for fantastic Bordeaux, there's nothing better than tasting Château Haut Rian.
" for rosé."
"Weighty for a rosé with plenty of ripe fruit such as tinned strawberries, cherry and pear, yet it stays tangy and fresh."
"Chateau Haut Rian is one of the best value producers of entry-level Bordeaux. The white is always brilliant value. This rosé is also exceptional value for money. quite deep in colour, with a vibrant nose of ripe strawberries; the palate oozes with freshly crushed raspberries and strawberries. This packs a lot of flavour into a lightish wine. Probably better with richer dishes but delectable on its own."
" said one. Light, fresh, juicy red fruits with a dry finish."
