Cotes du Rhone AOC , Rhone Valley, France
Food Pairing
Using a blend of great Rhône grapes such as Syrah and Mourvèdre to great effect, we get a ripe red wine with powerful red fruits and blackberries with good spice and outstanding structure.
Destemmed and fermented with natural yeast over three weeks in stainless steel tanks. Resting in vat for 12 months before bottling leads to the bouquet of red fruit aromas from the Syrah (25%).

Didier Charavin is proving to be one of the stalwarts of this region. He produces a wonderful classical wine that is textbook for the region. His wife appears to be the powerhouse of the couple, dealing with the business side, which is very common in French viticulture. Didier, on the other hand, concentrates on the job at hand and devotes himself to his vines and wines.
Ambitious is a word regularly used to describe Didier, and this shows in his decision to make his own wine after taking over the reins from his father in 1985. He has since built a solid reputation for well-made, powerful and Chateauneuf-du-Pape like wines for a fraction of the price.
"Seductive sleek warming dark fruits with liquorice and herbs. Try it with sausages and mash or a lightly spicy goulash. "
"A great middle-of -the-road wine, ripe and round, with gentle spice and juicy appeal. It'll go with anything - or anyone."
"A medium-bodied red, ripe brambly fruit on the nose. Easy drinking with plenty of fruit. Well balanced style."

In a dominant Mediterranean climate, the vineyard enjoys warm and sunny days, and is balanced by seasonal rains and the influence of the mistral. The grape varieties used for this appellation are dominated by Grenache (40% minimum) for reds and rosés, Syrah being also very present throughout the southern part. Many complementary grape varieties ( Cinsault , Carignan , Counoise , Muscardin , Vaccarèse , Terret , etc.) can respond to local soil and climate problems, En savoir plus : http://avis-vin.lefigaro.fr/connaitre-deguster/tout-savoir-sur-le-vin/guide-des-regions-et-des-appellations/vallee-du-rhone/appellation-cotes-du-rhone#ixzz4v1d5diAp
