"Coriole is a McLaren Vale institution. Its history dates back to the 1860s when the property's old house and barn were first constructed. The Lloyd family acquired the land in 1968 and just two years later released the first vintage under the Coriole label. Some of the Shiraz vines in use today dateback to 1919. The maxim which determines the Coriole approach to winemaking is that "good wine is made in thevineyard." While some wines are aged in new oak, the Redstone and Sangiovese are aged in older oak, giving awide range of styles. Coriole is seen as a trailblazer of wines in Australia. Organic practices have been adopted at Coriole, and they will continue to expand organic production overthe next few years."
