Ciu Ciu Tebaldo
Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio
Marche , Marche IGP, Italy
Tebaldo’s combination of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc, while it sounds like a mouthful, delivers a wine of elegance and balance. There are initial buttery fruit flavours that lead into an attractive and crisp finish. The grapes for Tebaldo are hand-harvested early, in mid-August. This method showcases the aromatic characteristics of the grape varieties which produce this wine. Tebaldo has become a staff and customer favourite for weddings and special gatherings.
The bestselling Ciù Ciù (‘choo-choo’) is made organically by Walter Bartolomei and his team in the hills of the Marche, on Italy’s Adriatic coast. His wines are among our greatest discoveries, offering Mediterranean flair and flavour at a price that makes them accessible to all. And, if you were curious about the name, it does indeed translate as "choo-choo." Yes, as in a train. A name that pays homage to his grandfather who was involved in the railroad.
Ciù Ciù wines are certified organic and vegan and Walter continues to pursue sustainability through wastewater, energy and biodiversity projects. His wines use Italian speciality grapes like Passerino, Montepulciano and Sangiovese. These grapes thrive on Walter's vineyards, producing wine perfect for easy enjoyment. He strives for fresh, light and fruity wines which offer more drinking and food pairing options. Just some of the reasons Ciù Ciù is a favourite for parties and among our most popular wedding wines.
"Some pleasant lifted aromas, nice broad mouthfilling fruit and a good dry finish. Well made wine with a bit of real interest. Serve with chicken salad or prawns."
"I fell in love with Tebaldo Ciu Ciu the minute I smelled it - a soft, gently persuasive chardonnay and pinot blanc blend with a pleasing buttery tang."
"Difficult to forget an Italian wine producer called Ciù Ciù because the great grandfather used to work on the railways. The Marche on Italy's Adriatic coast is better than most regions at offering Italian value, balance and personality in both reds and whites."
The Ciù Ciù Organic winery is located in the heart of the Piceno hills, at Offida (Ascoli Piceno), in the Rosso Piceno Superiore production area and its vineyards extend over an area of 150 hectares.
